OC Contest 2 - CLOSEDOC Contest 2: Goddess of Spring -  The Rules
:rose: THEME: Draw Your Female Original Character(s) as a Goddess of Spring! :rose:
:bulletgreen: You can use any of your original characters as long as the character is female. The character can be humanoid or an animal/creature. Doesn't matter!
:bulletgreen: You can use a character you've already created, or you can create a new character for the contest!
:bulletgreen: You can have as many characters in your entry as you would like as long as the main subject of the entry is expressed as a Goddess of Spring and is the main focus of the image.
:bulletgreen: Backgrounds are not a requirement, but your picture must be completed! I will not accept sketches. The image needs to either be full color or if using black and white materials it must be fully shaded.
:bulletgreen: Your picture can be a headshot, waist up, knees up, full body, etc. Doesn't matter.
:bulletgreen: Please only submit digital and/or traditional drawings. No photo
Steampunk Contest: ClosedIt is now 8:00pm so as of now the Late Entry Period for the Contest is now CLOSED.
Any entries submitted just before 8:00 will still be added to the folder. Any entry that came in a few seconds after 8:00 will still be added. Entries that are sent in at 8:01 will not be accepted in to the contest entries folder.
We thank all those who have took part in this contest. A journal will be posted in a bit with and updated Prize list as well as a detailed explanation on how voting will be held. as well as when expected winners will be decided and how and when prizes will be shipped out.
The waiting period for voting will take a while, and the waiting period for prizes to be distributed will also take a bit as i will be away for about a month or so.

Hi all, due to the quite big feedback we got here, including some voices who mentioned there are relative few images to choose from in the Lineart folder http://fighting-games-elite.deviantart.com/gallery/34515779 i thought about what to do to change it
So i asked over 50 artists if we can use their linearts or sketches for this contest, so far i got only positive feedback and could add many new linearts already.
Expect a lot more in the upcoming 1-3 days. To make it fair for everyone who started working on an entry already but sees a 2nd line art he wants to use for the contest the rules are changed a bit
2 entries per artist are allowed instead of only one

The new art contest started on  8th April and ends on the 31th May 2012
The target is to draw a game related fan art /artwork with characters or even the whole enviroment in the "Chibi" style
This means everything goes from God of War to Pokemon, from Portal, WoW, Doom, Mario, Sonic, League of Legends..it doesnt matter which characters you are drawing as long as it is in the chibi style
Rules, Guidelines and Hints:
Only 1 entry per artist
At least one character on the image must be drawn in the Chibi style
The deviation must be new
It must be mentioned in the description that it was made for the Game Art HQ "GO CHIBI" Contest

Making a contest?!

Another contest

Well, I was thinking what would be that I make another contest... the last one I hosted 2 years ago (I think)... anyway, a long time ago. So I thought that it would be awesome to make another one, but a little different than last one. I have points, but I don't use them that much, so mostly I buy other people memberships. So I can use these points for the contest.

I thought to make a contest "Paint my OC". I have ton of original characters, so that can be possible. And the last contest had only 3 winners (fantasy contest), so this time I wanted to make 2 categories, so at the end there would be 6 winners. Yea :nod: One category would be that you choose OC (or more of them) from my gallery and you draw them like you want. Another category would be "painting". I would give you linearts for download, so you would paint characters on the drawing. I would give more info later, if I decide to start this contest... of course, if you would be interested to enter :D

:new:EDIT... I decided that I WILL make this contest, cuz a lot of people are interested. So now I'm looking for some donors who would like to donate some prizes. Anything is welcome... you can donate points (I have donation poll on my profile and under the Journal page. You can see what you'll get when you donate something), commissions, llamas, features... When I'll start the contest I'll make a journal where I'll feature ALL my donors (if you donate 100 or more points you'll be exposed even as a special donor under the contest journal).

And when you donate something please write for which places would you like to donate each prize (for 1st, 2nd, 3rd...or for all of them) :D

I'll start the contest as soon as I get a little more prizes, so any donation and help is very appreciated. Thank you very much :heart:


If you want you can donate prizes too, like points, memberships, commissions, features... and such. When I'll start the contest I'll make a special journal for features for my donors (like before), and special donors (people who donate more than 100 points) will be exposed in the contest journal entry (when I make it). Like at previous contest I decided to make a special journal design especially for the contest, so I'll need some time to code it... and to design skin for the gallery, where I'll put all entries. So tell me what you think, and if this is gonna be OK contest :la:

Have you already uploaded the file for the coloring category? I'd like to attempt participating in this :D i saw your other journal entry and ended up here, but i wasn't able to find any other details besides this D: i might do the Draw My OC one too though..so one of the two :D if i find the time sadly .. :(

start...with PSD files and so on). But for the first category (painting OC like you

I would love to donate drawings for the winners (full body for 1st place, half body for 2nd place, and headshot for 3rd place for both categories) but I'm afraid my drawings aren't good enough. :/

donate full body comm for 1st place, then you'll have to do it twice,
