And tutorial is finally finished. I firstly started to do this tutorial on November 2010, but then my hard disc crashed and I didn't do it... I'm a little glad that hard disc crashed, cuz this tutorial looks billion times better than old one. I'm glad because I decided to learn to program in Flash a little more so I did what I really wanted. The new tutorial I started to do at the end of June 2011 and I did it for 4 months. It was hard to program everything (especially to write the text, cuz I'm not a good writer), but I really wanted to finish it. In original tutorial I made even custom mouse cursor, but here on dA I deleted it, because I didn't want that your mouse works weird outside tutorial area :D In this tutorial you can find 14 different tutorials. In menu you'll find 3 different categories, like People, Background and Photoshop and there you can choose what you want to learn. This tutorial can be even useful for people who don't use Photoshop that much or they learn to use it. Happy learning (P.S. all drawings in this tutorial you can find in our gallery)

+How to use tutorial+

You probably already saw little buttons at the bottom of this tutorial. Simply just click on them with your mouse or cursor. You can move the pages with your keyboard buttons. Turn to the next page by clicking on the Right button and for the previous page click the Left button on your keyboard. If you want to return to the Menu just click the button that looks like home (it'll appear on the following pages). In this tutorial you can move things too. Movable things have pink symbol. Move them with your mouse cursor.

+Tutorials presented+

Drawing a head | Painting a head | Painting a head and hair | Painting fabric | Background concept | Drawing a tree | Painting clouds | Painting leaves | Photoshop basics | Coloring B&W drawing | Using pen tool | Making lineart from scanned image | Using mask tool | 3D effect

If you can't see the text in the tutorial very well, then you can click download button on this page and text will be bigger. But if you want to download this tutorial completely (because .swf file you can't save) you can click on thumb below. It's in .rar format and you need WinRar (or WinZip) to extract the file... tutorial have less MB, because of compression.

:below:...if you want to DOWNLOAD TUTORIAL click on THUMB BELOW...:below:

:new:UPDATE (Januar 2012): This is edited version now. Before I forgot to add a command CTRL+V in Photoshop menu (Making lineart from scanned picture), so now I fixed that and you can download correct version. I even added download button on tutorial, so you can click on it, and you'll be redirected to tutorial which is available for download (then just click in top right corner Download button).

Awww... thank you and it's my pleasure  And if you want to move the channels, then be sure to do that on a merged file (which has only Background layer). It won't work if you have lots of layers. XD

The tutorial is great but may I ask whether there is  another way to paste the image when you're making lineart from the scanned drawing? in my version something doesn't work i guess or i just don't understand anything...

It should work in any Photoshop version. You can try again... humm, if you won't edit lineart much then you can put the layer where you have scanned lineart on Multiply blending layer mode (not Normal). The white color will turn transparent, though it'll be still like an image. The process which I described in the tutorials is on how to make clean lineart without background (when you put image on Multiply it still have background, which is just transparent). What kind of error you get when you try to do that?

Okay, I'll try to do as you said
It's not actually error. The problem is that I use the same combination of buttons as it is said in your tutorial, but I don't get the image like there, when the line art is actually red on the black background:/
So I thought that maybe I do something wrong

Oh...you have to turn Mask option on (it's below Set foreground/background on the left, on the Tool menu. It's like a rectangle with dotted circle inside) ... otherwise you'd get only black image... and you need to Paste the lineart when you turn the Mask on (CTRL+V) which you cut earlier (with CTRL+X command). You'll get the red lineart image. Then you just turn off the Mask again and you click Delete key, so you'll delete the black background.
