Old drawings again... and it's traditional...yay I drew this one in June, and if you checked our site, then you saw work in progress drawing here. And I uploaded smaller drawing here... and I have pretty good reason for that... well, even if you have 1920 px monitor, you'll still see this drawing 8 cm bigger (in width) than original. Original drawing is really small. And I photographed this, cuz I used golden flakes for these golden leaves, so if I would scan it, it wouldn't look good.
Something about him: His name is Jake and he plays violin (you can see it in the background)... he likes classical music and he would like to have a concert one day. But he doesn't believe that this will ever happen, because he's not that popular like others. He have yellow eyes, red hair, lip piercing and he likes orange (like that's not obvious enough )....and he wears glasses.
Moleskine sketchbook A5 size of drawing: 15,9 x 8,4 cm TRIA markers mechanical pencil (0.5 mm) eraser black ink pen (for the ink) fluorescent orange gel pen (0.5 mm) white pastel white marker (0.8mm) colored pencils (Faber-Castell) golden flakes compass, ruler, cotton pad black pen (0.5 mm) red marker (1 mm) time...I started to draw it on 30.5.2012 and I finished it on 19.6.2012 (from the sketch to the finished drawing)...and I drew it 12 hours and 30 minutes
15,9 x 8,4 cm? Really!? Wow, it's tiny, isn't it? And so detailed! I could never work as clean with markers on that size! And the composition is really good! And those light effects and shading! Maybe now I'll try to use gold flakes as well. ^^ I have only tried golden acrylic paint, but I guess gold flakes are far more shiny (and in general I really love using metallic colours - though scanning them isn't that easy).
Thank you very much Yea, it's really small. I wanted to try to draw small drawing with markers just for fun...and I made this Yea, golden flakes are way more shinny than acrylic paint. And they were much cheaper than golden acrylic color Yea, that's why I photographed this drawing under special angle, so reflections are visible
It looks like you had a lot of fun. And isn't it nice to have all those lovely materials at hand? Very inspirational. Although, I must say, I don't have any golden flakes lying around. Maybe I should invest...
Hahaha...yea, I did Yea, I bought a lot of materials, so I mostly use them all. I have golden leaves and golden flakes. They were actually pretty cheap. I gave more for golden acrylic paint, and it doesn't looks as much gold as flakes
