I'm just posting Noctis these days... hahaha :giggle: This is old Noctis fan art which I did last year, just for fun and I decided to post it on our birthday. :squee: I wanted to make something with golden markers, so I decided to make Noct. It's completely traditional drawing and animation I did in Flash CS5 and Photoshop CS5. That's also really small drawing, so I didn't post it bigger on dA, cuz it would look ugly ;P I did animation cuz when I scanned it, the golden color wasn't visible at all...and that sucked. So I decided to make animation, so you'll see the golden parts :la:

:bulletyellow: Moleskine sketchbook A5
:bulletyellow: size of drawing is 12,9 cm x 9,8 cm
:bulletyellow: Tria markers
:bulletyellow: mechanical pencil (0.5 mm)
:bulletyellow: eraser
:bulletyellow: black ink
:bulletyellow: pen (for the ink)
:bulletyellow: golden marker (0.8 mm)
:bulletyellow: Faber-Castell colored pencils
:bulletyellow: black pen (0.5 mm)
:bulletyellow: Photoshop and Flash CS5 (for animation)
:bulletyellow: time...I started to draw it on 17.10.2011 and I finished it on 20.10.2011 (from the sketch to finished drawing). I would say that I drew him around 10 hours.

Other Final Fantasy fan-arts:

I hope you like it and comments are welcome.

Awesome drawing! It really looks amazing :D
Do you know why gold\glittering\shiny markers or pens look normal and flat once scanned? I had the same issue with my golden pen a while ago.
Thanks for the info!

Thank you very much...:iconawwwplz: Well...while you look at gold\glittering\shiny markers on paper (not scanned) then you can observe it from many different angles, and the light is different, so it looks more shinny and better. While you scan it, then scanner uses only one light and paper is on flat surface...so you can see only one reflection...aaaaaand...then golden color looks brown, lol xD

Thanks for the info! It's kinda sad though because I really like glittery\pearly pens and markers - Could you give me some tips on how to render glitter\pearlescent effect on digital (and avoid airbrushy look)'
Thank you again you are awesome Hug

Welcome... Yea...me too...I edit them in Photoshop. I usually draw some shiny parts on Overlay layer mode. So it becomes shiny like in real life (though it'll never be as good as in reality, lol) :D I did that on this drawing :la:
